Meet the woman behind Piccino

We stopped by one of our favorite San Francisco restaurants and caught up with owner, Sher Rogat and asked her what's cooking these days.

What you do: Restaurateur  (Owner of Piccino Restaurant in Dogpatch) 

Where you live: San Francisco

Can you tell us a little bit about your path to become a restaurant owner?

Food, wine and coffee became a creative outlet for me and through this love I met my partner in the business Margherita who was also was just as obsessed as I was..

What's your favorite thing about owning a restaurant?

The community we have built with our employees and guests. Oh and of course sharing a table with those I care about.

Your restaurant survived the pandemic (congrats!) What was the thing you learned in that experience that you want to bring with you?

It reinforced how grateful I am for what I have and how important it is to have social contact with each other because we all felt so isolated during the pandemic. 

What's your favorite dish at Picinno?

That’s a hard one!! It depends on my mood and the season. Right now Karl the Fog is gracing us in dogpatch so I feel I need Piccino’s polpette to comfort me. (Click here to salivate over their menu here.)

Do you have any exciting projects on the horizon that you want to share with us? 

Oh we are all excited! We are opening a Piccino in The Presidio in 2024!

I have now 7!! Good lord and I continue to want more!

The Chonk!!!! Well it really feels and is modern. The way it fits. I can run all over the restaurant and feel I am the perfect shoes .

It started with the Mirande Peep Toe high heel in navy blue which I still adore because it was the first. And then added Workers clog, Daphne, Norma, Suzie closed toed, Susie SPANISH,  and the Chonk. Can you tell I am a huge fan. Bryr always makes me feel simply me
